UniForum announces that the Worldwide Association of NT User Groups (WANTUG) will take part in the UniForum '97 conference and trade show. Headquartered in Washington, DC, WANTUG recently held its first organizing meeting to establish a national charter and to secure corporate sponsorships that will enable it to fulfill its mission of providing information and education about the Microsoft Windows NT operating system to users around the world. Seventy-five regional user groups form the backbone of WANTUG, many of which have existed for several years as user groups for those interested in advanced systems, including Unix.
WANTUG activities at UniForum '97 will be both educational and organizational. While final details have not yet been worked out, it is anticipated that the national organization will host a workshop for NT developers and ISVs, tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, Mar. 11, at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, the site of all UniForum '97 activities. The regular UniForum Conference, Mar. 12-14, will also offer an entire track on Unix and NT integration, with WANTUG speaker participation likely.
WANTUG will also be on the exhibit floor with an informational booth and is expected to play a role in the Windows NT Partners Pavilion at the show.
Coordinating these events for WANTUG is its president, Charles Kelly, who is also executive director of the Advanced Systems User Group in Annandale, VA. Kelly is also a computer scientist at the National Science Foundation.
Watch for more details about WANTUG's participation at UniForum '97 in future event promotion.
